What is rain
Rain is a natural phenomenon, a drop of water falling from a cloud. The water on the land and ocean surface evaporates into water vapor, which rises to a certain height and then liquefies into small water droplets when it is cold. They collide with each other in these clouds. When it was too big for the air to hold, it fell from the clouds and formed rain.
Formation process of rain
The water on the ground absorbs heat and becomes water vapor, which rises to the upper layer of the steam layer in the sky. Due to the low temperature of the upper layer of the steam layer, the volume of water vapor decreases, the proportion increases, and the steam decreases. Due to the high temperature below the steam layer, it absorbs heat during the decline, rises again, meets cold, and then decreases. In this way, the reverse gas molecules gradually shrink, and finally concentrate at the bottom of the steam layer, forming a low-temperature area at the bottom, and the water vapor concentrates to the low-temperature area, which forms a cloud. The cloud cluster gradually becomes larger, the up and down convection inside the cloud becomes more and more intense, the temperature becomes lower and lower, and finally rain drops are formed.
Main components of rain
The main component of rainwater is water (chemical formula H2O), with a small amount of sulfur dioxide (chemical formula SO2) and nitrogen dioxide (chemical formula NO2). Generally, the pH value of rainwater is about 5.6, and the rainwater with pH value less than 5.6 is acid rain. In case of thunderstorm, the rainwater will contain a small amount of ozone molecules (caused by lightning), as well as various impurities and floating dust in the air.
After the water on the ball is irradiated by the sun, it becomes water vapor and evaporates into the air. Water vapor condenses into small droplets when it meets cold air at high altitude. These small water droplets are very small, with a diameter of only 0.0001 ~ 0.0002 mm and a maximum of only 0.002 mm. They are small and light, held in the air by the updraft in the air. It is these small water droplets that gather into clouds in the air. These small water droplets will become raindrops and fall to the ground, and its volume will increase by more than 1 million times.
Condensation and enlargement are two main means. The second is to rely on the collision and increase of cloud droplets.
In the early stage of raindrop formation, cloud droplets mainly rely on continuous absorption of water vapor around the cloud to condense and bloom themselves. If the water vapor energy source in the cloud is continuously supplied and supplemented, so that the surface of cloud droplets is often in a supersaturated state, then this condensation process will continue, making cloud droplets grow and become raindrops. However, sometimes the water vapor content in the cloud is limited. In the same cloud, the water vapor is often in short supply, so it is impossible to make each cloud drop grow into larger raindrops, and some smaller cloud drops have to be merged into larger cloud drops.
If water droplets and ice crystals coexist in the cloud, the process of condensation and sublimation will be greatly accelerated. When the cloud droplets in the cloud increase to a certain extent, due to the continuous increase of the volume and weight of large cloud droplets, they can not only catch up with those slow small cloud droplets, but also "swallow" more small cloud droplets to grow up. When the big cloud drop grows bigger and bigger, and finally becomes so big that the air can no longer hold it, it falls straight from the cloud to the ground and becomes our common rain.
In addition to acid rain and colored rain, there are many interesting rain, such as frog rain, iron rain, gold rain and even money rain. They are all masterpieces of tornadoes.
Precautions on rainy days
1. Try not to walk on the motorway, but walk aside on the sidewalk.
2. Try not to cover your eyes with umbrellas and raincoats to ensure you can see the road clearly.
3. When crossing the intersection, pay attention to the traffic and do not rush with motor vehicles.
4. Don't chase and fight on the road.
5. When taking various traffic vehicles, drivers should be warned to slow down, don't rush the way, don't rush the time, and they'd rather be late than have a traffic accident.
If you are just outside before the rainstorm, try to find a safe place to stay until the rainstorm is over. This safe place must be a solid building or a building with high terrain. If the rainstorm has begun, while taking shelter from the rain, try to contact your family and tell your specific location to reassure them. When choosing a shelter from rain, stay away from the temporary fence on the construction site and the fence built on the hillside.
