Some users open this computer after buying a notebook. How can a partition be created? Indeed, many computers now have only one disk and do not divide users into several disks like previous computers. Then, how to partition a computer with only one C disk and one more disk? Let's have a look with me!
1. Right click "computer";
2. Select the "management" tab;
3. Open the "computer management" window;
4. Select "disk" and "storage management" to open the "disk management" page, as shown in the figure;
5. Right click to select the disk to be compressed (in this example, select disk d), and select "compressed volume" as the shortcut;
6. Fill in the amount of space to be compressed in the input compressed space (MB). If 50g is to be compressed, fill in 50g * 1024MB;
7. Select the "compress" button;
8. After compression, you will find an extra non partitioned disk (green partition);
9. Right click to pop up the shortcut menu and select "new partition";
In the new volume wizard, fill in the size of the next volume;
11. Select the drive disk number and go to the next step;
12. Select the file system format, and then check it before performing quick format. Next step;
13. Click the "finish" button to complete the new disk.
Here, a computer with C disk is divided into several disk spaces. Isn't it very simple!
XP system hard disk partition with tools
Before introducing the use of tools to partition the system's hard disk, let's first understand what hard disk partition software is available for XP system. Generally speaking, we often use pqmagic and partitionmanager. From most accounts, these two tools can well complete the disk management related work of XP. It is worth mentioning that they can also adjust the capacity of Disk C later.
Here, remember to install one of the above software first, and then specifically adjust the capacity of a partition. In the whole process, Disk C is independent, and the total capacity refers to all partitions except disk C. It is important to remember the size and number of partitions before operation to avoid repeated creation errors.
Use the disk management tool of XP system to partition
First of all, we need to know that this hard disk partition method is not suitable for the partition of drive C. If your computer has and only has one drive letter C, this partition method is not applicable. Then we can start to partition the hard disk. First, right-click "my computer" and go to the disk partition interface through the path of "management" - "storage" - "disk management".
On the right side of the interface, we can clearly see the current disk partition. Then, we right-click any partition except Disk C, and use "delete logical drive" to delete all partitions. Then, select next on "unassigned partition", and refer to the major computer digital forums to set the required values. Finally, "format New Area". Remember to check NTFS format.
