Why can't you connect your mobile phone to WiFi

Wi Fi (wireless fidelity), also known as "mobile hotspot", is a wireless LAN technology founded on IEEE 802.11 standard. Based on the close relationship between the two systems, some people regard Wi Fi as a synonym of IEEE 802.11 standard. Why can't you connect your mobile phone to WiFi but the Internet? Follow my steps to find out.

Why can't you connect your mobile phone to WiFi but the Internet?

1. Check the router settings

Open the browser of the computer connected to the current wireless router, enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar (some routers are 192.168.0.1, you can find it by looking at the label at the bottom of the router), and log in to the web configuration interface of the current router. The user name and password are admin by default

2. Under the network setting of the router, first find the WAN port setting option of the router. Setting the "type" here correctly is the key to the problem. There are two commonly used types: PPPoE and DHCP. Choose this according to your own situation. If it is home ADSL dial-up Internet access, choose PPPoE; If there is a direct network interface available for community broadband or hotels, choose DHCP

3. If it is DHCP, there is no need to make other settings, and the router will automatically obtain the corresponding network settings. If you choose PPPoE, you need to fill in the correct user name and password, which are provided by network service providers, such as China Telecom. If you forget your password, you can call 10000 for manual consultation

4. Next, check the LAN port settings of the router. In fact, the settings of different brands are similar. The most important thing is to turn on the DHCP function, so as to ensure that the router can assign an IP address when the device is connected to the LAN port or WiFi. The IP address range assigned by DHCP should be in the same network segment as the router's IP address, such as 192.168.1 X

5. Finally, check the security settings of the router. Check whether some security policies restricting MAC or IP address connection or corresponding speed limit policies are enabled. If yes, turn them off. Otherwise, only devices with specific MAC or IP address can be connected.

Do you want to turn off the mobile network when WiFi is connected? Will the traffic sneak away?

In the era of "human beings can't live without mobile phones and mobile phones can't live without networks", how do we get used to using mobile phones to surf the Internet?

For example, if I am connected to WiFi, I will turn off the mobile traffic. If I watch the video and steal the traffic, it's amazing

Do you want to turn off the mobile network after the mobile phone is connected to WiFi?

Do you need it? Don't you need it

If there is WiFi,

Without shutting down the mobile network,

Will you secretly run traffic?

This is an embarrassing but easily overlooked problem!

First of all, WiFi and mobile data are two different frequency band signals that will not conflict with each other, so even if they are turned on at the same time, they will not have any impact on the Internet speed.

Moreover, in the case of WiFi connection, even if the mobile traffic is turned on, the smartphone will give priority to the use of WiFi network, so there is no need to worry that the mobile phone is still using mobile traffic when WiFi is available.

Therefore, generally speaking, when the mobile phone is connected to WiFi, the mobile network cannot be turned on, which has no impact on the consumption of traffic. It depends on your personal mood.

Of course, there are unusual circumstances.

Sometimes, after the WiFi network is unstable or disconnected, if the mobile network has been turned on before, the mobile phone will switch to the mobile network by default. Therefore, in order to prevent this "sneak traffic", some functions of the mobile phone must be set in advance.

Take Android phones as an example. Enter [settings] - find [mobile network] - [WLAN / mobile data connection switching prompt] - select [prompt to use mobile data connection].

In this way, even if the WiFi network is interrupted, the mobile phone will prompt you whether to switch to mobile traffic instead of automatic connection, so as to avoid innocent running away of traffic!

Summary:

To be on the safe side, please turn off mobile traffic when connecting to WiFi

I once had the case that I didn't turn off the mobile traffic after connecting to WiFi, and then my mobile phone was in arrears one night. The reason is that after the WiFi dropped, the mobile phone began to use mobile traffic, but without warning, the traffic was exceeded unconsciously, resulting in the arrears of the mobile phone.

In addition, when WiFi is unstable or the received signal is weak, it is best to turn off mobile traffic while connecting WiFi, or simply do not connect WiFi and use mobile traffic directly! After all, not all WiFi networks are safe. WiFi in public places is not safe. It is recommended not to connect!

Finally, some software applications may have hidden risks. If you don't use the app maliciously, you may steal the traffic all the time.

Therefore, be careful when using WiFi!
