Why do cameras use tripods instead of quadrupeds

Some professional photographers often bring a tripod when taking pictures, especially outdoors. Fixing the camera on the tripod can prevent the camera shake from affecting the imaging effect. So why should the camera be on a tripod instead of a quadruped?

The purpose of the tripod is to fix the camera. Because three points determine a plane, any given three points are on a certain plane. When the tripod is opened, the three feet can fit well with the three points on the ground. At this time, it doesn't matter if the ground is uneven, because when placing the tripod, you only care about the plane determined by the three points on the ground where the three feet are located, and no matter how uneven other places outside the three points are, the plane determined by the three points will not be changed. Plus the stability of the triangle, the whole tripod will stand on the ground stably, and the camera fixed on the tripod will be stable without shaking. As long as you adjust the focal length and aperture, no matter how long you expose, the camera will not take blurred photos due to jitter.

If a quadruped is used, when the three feet are placed, the placement of the fourth foot will be affected by the uneven ground. At this time, we must adjust the length of the fourth foot so that it just falls on the ground. Because photographers often shoot in different places, the ground conditions of each place are different. If the fourth foot needs to be adjusted every time, it becomes a very troublesome thing. Three feet are enough to support the camera. Adding one more foot will not do any good except increase the trouble. Naturally, there is no need to use a quadruped.

If it is on a flat ground, you can place a tripod or a quadruped. Just adjust the four feet of the quadruped on a plane. In fact, our desks and chairs have four feet, and some swivel chairs even have five or six feet. Generally speaking, the floor of the home is flat. As long as the four feet of the table are placed on a plane, the table can be placed smoothly, and the table will not be moved at will after it is placed. In addition, the four square desktop supported by four feet is also more practical and beautiful. However, the tripod used to fix the camera is different. Photographers often take photos outdoors. At this time, the ground is usually uneven, so we can only choose the tripod first.
