Why should we choose an open place to set off fireworks and firecrackers

Whenever the festival comes, with the sound of "bang, bang", many colorful sparks will appear in the quiet night sky, adding a lot of joy and celebration to us. But at the same time of joy, if we set off fireworks improperly, it will also bring us disaster.

At about 9:00 p.m. on February 9, 2009, a major fire accident occurred in the cultural center of the new CCTV station site park under construction when setting off fireworks, covering an area of 8490 square meters, resulting in a direct economic loss of 163.83 million yuan, and a firefighter died during the rescue. In the early morning of February 3, 2011, the thermal insulation layer of block B of Huangchao Wanxin international building, a landmark building in Shenyang, was ignited by fireworks. Then the fire spread rapidly and spread to block A. finally, the two buildings were burned beyond recognition. The fire caused by small fireworks and firecrackers has brought so much loss to people that we have to pay attention to it.

How did fireworks and firecrackers cause a fire? Originally, fireworks and firecrackers contain a large number of pyrotechnics, which are mainly composed of flammable liquids, flammable solids, spontaneous combustibles, inflammables in case of moisture, oxidants and toxic substances. They are the main raw materials for fireworks and firecrackers to produce sound, color, light, smoke and other effects, as well as the culprit for combustion and explosion. The sparks and flying fires generated by the combustion and explosion of these pyrotechnics will not be extinguished in a short time. Once encountering combustibles, it is easy to cause a fire. Therefore, we should choose to set off fireworks and firecrackers in an open place, so as to prevent sparks and flying fires produced by pyrotechnics from meeting combustibles and causing fires.

In addition, we should also pay attention to the following fire prevention problems: first, try not to set off fireworks and firecrackers with impermanent traces, such as cannon, diamond monkey and field mouse. Secondly, we should go to the designated store to buy fireworks and firecrackers printed with the manufacturer's name, trademark and discharge instructions. Finally, the fireworks and firecrackers bought back should be placed in a safe place, not close to the fire source, heat source and power supply, so as to prevent self combustion and explosion, and prevent rat bites.

In addition, before setting off, carefully read the instructions on fireworks and firecrackers, carefully check whether there are inflammables and combustibles nearby, remove potential fire hazards, and set off according to the instructions. It is strictly prohibited to set off fireworks and firecrackers in cultural relics protection units, transportation hubs such as stations, docks and airports, railway line safety protection areas, units producing and storing inflammables and explosives, power transmission and transformation facilities safety protection areas, medical institutions, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, nursing homes, mountain forests, grasslands and other key fire prevention areas, as well as other areas specified by the government. In particular, pay attention to whether the falling fireworks and firecrackers fall on the combustibles. When an afterfire is found, take immediate measures to extinguish the afterfire or remove the fragments.
