Recently, the drifting of dead pigs in the waters of the Huangpu River in Shanghai has once again attracted attention to China's water safety. So what should we do with pigs that die abnormally under normal circumstances?
The national standard gb16548-2006 "Regulations on Biosafety treatment of diseased animals and diseased animal products" stipulates the standard of harmless treatment. No matter in the breeding link or for scientific research, as long as it is animals, products and fragments of tissue that have been infected, died, poisoned or died of unknown cause, they should be treated innocuously.
It is impossible for pig farmers not to have died pigs in the feeding process, and each farm cannot avoid it. Some farms may be relatively mediocre and not handled so carefully. For example, when the pig dies, he throws it into the pond to feed ducks and fish. When the pond is dry, his bones are exposed. This is not standardized enough. In order to regulate the treatment, the state will give some subsidies to farmers who have died pigs, and then supervise them to burn and bury deeply. In fact, trading dead pigs in the market is the most terrible, which depends on supervision. The operation methods include incineration, chemical preparation, burial, etc. at present, incineration and burial are widely used in production, mainly for fear of breeding and infecting pathogenic microorganisms. Generally, strict disinfection should be carried out before and after these treatments, such as spraying disinfectant at the burial site. There are also some high-end treatment technologies, such as making dead bodies into organic fertilizer and applying it to farmland.
