China is known as the "land of etiquette", and the Chinese people are also famous for their courteous style. However, why have rape cases occurred frequently in China in recent years?
One early morning in December 2012, Zhao Jie (a pseudonym), who lives in Fengtai District, walked home after the night shift. When entering the community to go upstairs, a man wearing a mask suddenly jumped out from behind her, strangled her neck and dragged her to the back of a public toilet outside the community... After the resistance failed, Zhao Jie took the man back to her rental house and asked the other party to wear condoms on the grounds of "fear of pregnancy". The man saw Zhao Jie's cooperation and raped her after wearing condoms... (Beijing News, March 19, 2013)
Of course, under the iron evidence of community monitoring and DNA identification, 37 year old Han was arrested with the approval of Fengtai procuratorate. Prosecutors believe that the suspect Han, against the wishes of the victim, used threats to force the victim to have sex, which has constituted rape. Although Zhao Jie induced her to wear condoms and showed cooperation, it still did not affect the legal elements of the crime of rape.
While lamenting Zhao Jie's helplessness and resourcefulness, I can't help but think of the endless rape cases in recent years, including seduction, sodomy, rape of students by teachers, rape of subordinates by officials, and rape of college students by migrant workers... Although these suspects of moral corruption have finally been punished, they have left people with a deep thought: Why are there more and more rape cases in modern China?
For many people, the word "rape" is no stranger. In a broad sense, both men and women are raped when one party forces the other party to have sex with it by means of violence or threat. However, generally speaking, rape refers to men forcibly having sex with women. Rape is a crime in all countries.
The crime of rape is the result of the interaction of many factors. Generally speaking, people will have sexual desire requirements after entering puberty. If there is no proper way to expel sexual impulses and can not be controlled by the adverse effects of pornographic violence, it is easy to lead to rape.
Rapists can be divided into three types: aggressive, lustful and impulsive. The first two categories are generally premeditated and dangerous. The aggressive type is serious and rare in nature. The perpetrator is hostile to women and cruel, often resulting in serious disability and even killing of the victim. Lustful rapists are more common. They mostly pursue sexual pleasure. Different from the aggressive type, they generally do not use the means of seriously injuring women when committing crimes, but attempt to achieve the purpose of sexual intercourse with intimidation or minor violence. Impulsive often comes from chance, such as the discovery of a sleeping hostess when stealing and the sudden onset of evil thoughts. Such people are timid and weak willed, and may give up the infringement when they are resisted by the victim.
As a typical case, Liu Qingpeng, who was sentenced to death in shecheng Town, Linquan County, Anhui Province, is 46 years old. Liu is not tall and looks honest. He is still a filial son in the eyes of his wife and villagers. However, such a farmer raped 116 women in 17 years, even including plots that ordinary people dare not think of: raping his daughter-in-law in front of his mother-in-law, raping his daughter in front of his mother, and raping pregnant women who are six months pregnant
After all, why are there more and more rape cases in modern China? First, the number of Chinese men far exceeds that of women. Many singles are bound to become a factor of social instability. For example, when men in many poor places don't even have a wife and can't meet their normal desires, they are easy to become rapists. Second, psychologically, abnormal or distorted, taking women in different ways is fun. Third, from a legal point of view, the conviction of rapists is very troublesome. Many reports lose because of insufficient evidence, even if the sentence is very light. In addition, modern women's clothes are becoming more and more exposed, and film and television programs are becoming more and more attractive. At the same time, girls are more reluctant to report after being raped, resulting in the suspect's growing courage, instinct, temptation and "encouragement", and naturally more and more rape cases.
